Product Information

Staples farm tables are hand made, one at a time, using the finest reclaimed wood salvaged from the homesteads of New England.  Each table comes with a Certificate of Authenticity detailing the age of the wood and where it came from.  Stephen Staples signs each table top with his famous signet mark.  He feels his table tops are as important to him and their future owner as any artist's canvas.

Our farm table starts with the selection of the boards for the tabletop.  To begin with, we just don't use any old boards.  We select the floor and wall boards which are time worn and colored through the activity of many years of busy farming life.  By purchasing entire floors of large barns, homes and factories, we are sure to have table tops made often times from boards from the same tree, not to mention patina and wear of the same time and space.  These boards are glued together with attention paid to keeping the board faces flush so no aged wood will have to be removed with some type of abrasive operation.  You are welcome to order custom size rectangle farm tables as well as square farm tables.  It is also possible to order a rectangle or square farm table with center leaves or company boards that fit on the ends of the table.

Stephen Staples' most popular Windsor hand turned leg design is drawn from many early styles of the delicate upsweep of the antique Windsor chair leg.  The farm table legs are removable as we find today's life styles lend themselves to easy mobility.  The 3/8" bolts are fastened to hard wood blocks that are key notched into the table apron.  Stephen also hand turns other style legs.
